Binary™ DB9 Female to RJ45 Modular Adapter with Straight Pinout
Connecting RS-232 equipment to a control system can sometimes require soldering or using cables that are too long for the job. Make your next install faster and neater by using this DB9-RJ45 adapter. Just make up a custom length network cable using Cat5e/6, then put an adapter on each end to convert from RJ45 to the appropriate gender DB9 connector.
Note: this adapter has a female DB9 with a straight pin-out configuration.

Quick Tip! If you are connecting two pieces of RS-232 equipment with opposite gender DB9 connectors (one male, one female), in most cases this will mean you need a straight through cable. Just purchase the appropriate gender straight-through adapters and you should be good to go. On the other hand, if the equipment has the same gender (both male or both female), odds are you will need to use a null modem on one end to swap the send and receive lines. As always, consult your equipment pinout documentation to be absolutely sure.
